Sheffield Oaks is a friendly local club on the north side of Sheffield that was formed in 1977 by a group of school leavers from Myers Grove Comprehensive. Over the years we’ve had a mixture of players from the local area and universities as well as players from Australia, France, Spain, Ireland, Wales, South Africa, Chile, Singapore and Uganda pull on the gold and blue of the mighty Oaks.
Sheffield Oaks run two adult sides out of Parson Cross Park. Easily accessible by car or public transport from the centre of Sheffield. The club welcomes players of all abilities to come and join us whether you’re an ex-international or just starting out you’ll find a warm welcome at Oaks.
Sheffield Oaks train weekly on Wednesday evenings from 8pm at Goodwin Sports Centre during the club season. To find out more about training contact our Club Captain Simon on 07515 806968. Pre-season training takes place at Parson Cross Park, Tuesdays and Thursday at 6.30pm.
Sheffield Oaks are dedicated to being a progressive club which aims to develop the skills of all players. We aim to provide structured, focused training aimed at developing a strong squad of players.
Oaks also love the social side of rugby, it’s very important after all, and have a core of die-hard supporters. We also enjoy a tipple on a Saturday evening and stage regular socials throughout the season.

Grazie mille
Ciao Salvatore, my Italian isn’t great so I hope you don’t mind a reply in English. By all means, come train with us – we’re starting up again 8-10pm at Goodwin Sports Centre this Wednesday. It’s on the lower artificial pitches so we shouldn’t be too difficult to find. Hopefully see you there, Aled.
