Code of Conduct for Spectators

When spectating, either at a home or away fixture, members of Sheffield Oaks RUFC are required to:

  • Respect the boundaries of the playing area and do not encroach this. Also please do not leave any litter along the pitch following completion of any fixture.
  • Respect the guidance from the Club with regard to spectator behaviour.
  • Respect match officials’ decisions, even if they appear to have made a mistake – remember, they are volunteers providing an opportunity for players to play rugby. Never verbally abuse players, coaches, match officials or fellow spectators: such behaviour can create a negative environment for players and their behaviour will often reflect this.
  • Encourage all players irrespective of their ability – never ridicule any individual players, regardless of the team in which they play. Condemn bad language, rude behaviour and violence.
  • Alcohol should only be consumed within designated spectator areas.
